Mainland China and HKSAR Signed New IP Cooperation Arrangements

On June 28, the State Intellectual Property Office of China(SIPO)and Commerce and Economic Development Bureau in HKSAR signed the Cooperation Arrangements in the Area of Intellectual Property.
Since November 2011 when mainland China and HKSAR entered into the first cooperation document in the area of intellectual property, related authority departments in mainland China and HKSAR have conducted a series of exchanges and cooperation concerning intellectual property laws and regulations, personnel trainings and automation as well as patent literature and have scored remarkable achievements.
The document this time clarified directions and contents of the future cooperation between mainland China and HKSAR in the area of intellectual property to better meet increasing IP-related needs of varied innovative bodies. Next, SIPO will continue to cooperate with the IP related departments in HKSAR.
The areas include deepening patent cooperation, IP-related laws and regulations exchanges as well as promoting IP trade by sticking to requirements of the Constitution and Hong Kong Basic Law and following the principle of One Country and Two Systems. It aims to further promote the IP-related exchanges and better protect the IPR of varied innovative bodies in mainland China and HKSAR.
